I am a 25 year old woman that has been snowboarding for over 14 years. I have only been competing professionally for the past 2 seasons. I was first introduced to boarder cross at a young age when my big brother entered me into a competition. I was the only female in my age group so I raced against the boys, and placed 3rd! I didn't race again until 3 years ago when a friend was helping with the comp and told me to enter. So I went in the amateur series and had a faster time than the pro woman. I thought maybe I should step it up a notch and enter the pro woman series the next season, where I was asked to be apart of the BC Provincial Team. This has now lead me to where I am now 7th in Canada and 39th in the World. I have yet to compete in a World Cup but I know my opportunity is coming soon. My long term goals are to compete in the 2010 Olympics. I am not yet at my peak of performance but I’m planning on getting there in time for the upcoming Olympics. Thanks to Kaizen I believe I can achieve each of these goals easier and stronger.
